This is also know as primary backing cloth. It's the cloth that you tuft in to. Read more about the history here. Many people use monk's cloth, but we've found that the quality is unreliable. What this means is it might shred and break-down if you over tuft an area. The primary backing cloth found on the site is really great and will hold up to the toughest of tests.
