I am new to this and would like to know if anyone can tell me how to estimate the amount of yarn to use for each color of my design. I realize there are different size yarns. I want to do some practice pieces and don’t want to run out of yarn and have to reorder more and half to wait to finish a piece. Thank you😊

Hi irishgirl,
As you pointed out this question is kind of hard based on sizes and how tight your tufting is. I found for a throw pillow that is about 20"x 20" I would use between 1-2 lbs of yarn. I always over buy yarn so I don't run out.
